Policies and Procedures for In-Studio Training

(last update: March 2022)

We’ve made significant alterations to how we operate—all designed to keep you and our staff safe. Here are the current COVID procedures you can expect at BOMB…

Workout Spaces.

We’ve set your workout area up so that no matter where you are, there you will be a minimum of 6 feet from anyone else. If your instructor needs to walk around to offer more technical cues, they will be wearing a mask. Our class sizes are capped at 16 people.

Mask Policy.

Masks are optional for our adult programs but we highly encourage you to throw one on if you’re heading into a high traffic area of the gym. Masks are mandatory for our kids programs, for now.

Equipment.

We will never put you in a position where you are asked to use equipment that is not clean. Everyone is asked to do their part to keep equipment clean at all times, and we’re making it easier for you. We ask that you sanitize or wash your hands when you arrive, then wipe down all equipment that you bring into your workout area.

Before moving your equipment out of your area, you’ll be asked to wipe down your gear. When classes are finished, instructors will give it another once-over.

Air and Ventilation.

Our HVAC systems are running well and moving stale air out of the building and keeping our space well ventilated. Where possible, we’ll be keeping the windows and doors open. As an extra step, we’ve got stand-alone air purifiers in all of our workout spaces that run on that run on medical grade H13 Filters (higher rated than True HEPA) with a particle removal rate of 99.97%.

High-Touch Surfaces.

In addition to our usual cleaning schedule, doorknobs, handles, benches, coat hooks, light switches, and other high touch areas will get extra attention from instructors.

Class Reservations.

No walk-ins will be allowed. If you are having trouble booking, please email info@bombfitness.ca or call 416-890-4785 at least 2 hours before the start of the session.

Class Cancellations.

You’ll be able to cancel up to 2 hours before a session begins. If you no-show for a session more than once, you’ll be charged a $5 fee each time. If you need to cancel late for a good reason, please text or email (do not use Facebook or phone). The class sizes are really tight so we have to enforce this new rule. It’s also on the lenient side of the standard policy at all group fitness studios.

Arriving at BOMB.

When you arrive for class, you’ll be greeted one at a time and will be asked to review the symptoms of Covid-19 and confirm that you are not experiencing any. A staff member will check you in on Wellness Living (you can also check yourself in via the member app to speed things along). Please keep your mask on until everyone is checked in and arrived at their workout area.

Other things to note…

  • Bring a filled water bottle, your own sweat towel, and an optional yoga mat.

  • Bring a pair of indoor shoes to change into.

  • Bring as little extra clothing and bags as you can. Leave them in your car or at home. Loose item boxes for car keys, phones, wallets etc, will be available at each pod.

  • Please don’t be late. If you are 5 minutes late, we can’t let you in as we will not be able to do the proper health and safety check.

  • Please practice physical distancing. Our staff will work to get members in and out of the studio while maintaining physical distancing practices. We ask that you avoid waiting for class in high-traffic areas, and consider waiting outside or in your car, if you’re comfortable and the weather permits it.

  • Showers are still off limits for now. Sorry!

An indoor class at BOMB Danforth. Class sizes will remain small and everyone will be physically distanced throughout. Masks are only allowed off inside the workout area and only during the actual workout time.

HOW YOU CAN HELP KEEP EACH OTHER SAFE

We’ve put a lot of changes in place—with details beyond what you see here. The way our new safety process will be most effective is if we all make sure to do our part in it. It’s a good thing that BOMB people are the best people.

Aside from respecting the safety guidelines put in place by our government, we ask that any member coming to the studio walks in with the approach to go above and beyond for each other.

Please make sure to practice physical distancing when in close. Follow the markers placed around the studio to maintain a safe distance.

We’re encouraging members and staff to limit person-to-person contact, including hugs & high fives. Community is one of our most beloved values — but right now, this is the best way to take care of each other. We’re almost there!

If you have to use the washroom, please put your mask on and follow the cleaning protocol printed in the washroom. Wipe down the seat, handles, and locks. Wash your hands thoroughly before coming back to your pod.

If you have a cough, fever, or symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to the studio until you are symptom-free. Please take a rapid test or go get tested.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19, or have knowingly come into close contact with someone who has, we ask that you do not come to the studio for 5 days.

If you feel unwell or have any concerns about coming, please stay home and stay safe. Online classes and recordings will still be available.

That BOMB you’ve been needing now more than ever is even safer now—and we can’t wait to see you there.

MOVING FORWARD

We will continue to monitor the local COVID-19 situation and update this page as necessary.

Whether you plan to join us in the studio or feel more comfortable doing your training online, we’re here for you. If you have questions or concerns, let’s chat – info@bombfitness.ca or 416-890-4785.

We can’t wait to see you back at the gym!
